 Energy has become a both local and global stake: here, it's a challenge to guarantee to everyone an affordable, reliable and easy resource ; there, it's essential to watch over exchanges balance and to protect the world environment. Matter of concern for States after the oil crisis, it is today the core of sustainable development within the territories and matter of debate for people.
Between local and global, the ENERGAÏA exhibition gathers around renewable energies and energy effectiveness all the regional decision-makers, manufacturers, local authorities and private citizens who have worked around the Mediterranean sea to increase our capacity to innovate, to develop markets, to train workers, to create jobs, to build integrated sectors... Since energy is in the centre of our worries for now and for the future, let's struggle to put always more value in it!
The Region Languedoc-Roussillon has encouraged renewable energies and energy effectiveness: it devoted more than 19 million euros of its 2008 budget to them, including more than 6 million euros to enterprises. More than the half of these subsidies helped decentralised electricity production and more than a third thermal renewable energy production. But the Region also stimulated energetic demand control or innovation, for example the call for projects « low consumption buildings - EFFINERGIE ».
In 2009 like for the two previous editions, the Region Languedoc-Roussillon supports the ENERGAÏA exhibition because in such a well-endowed territory, on constantly growing markets and within a promising socio-economic dynamics, all of us must meet... the energy expectations.
